Driven by Founders Chris and Michelle Fisher’s vision for a brighter world, Shine is a values-led franchising company dedicated to establishing exceptional home service businesses in every community it serves, specializing in window cleaning, pressure washing, and outdoor lighting.
Chris’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited in 1999, after college, when he invested in a simple bucket and a gas station squeegee. Inspired by his time playing for his college basketball team, the “Golden Eagles,” Chris named his first window cleaning business; “Golden Eagle Cleaning.” He remembers his coach, Kim Elders, emphasizing a powerful principle: “No Excuses.” Being on the team taught Chris to always take responsibility and work hard – no excuses! That principle still guides the Shine story today!
His wife, Michelle, was integral from the beginning, managing the finances with traditional paper ledgers and even joining him in servicing their initial customers, many of whom remain loyal Shine clients today. To support their early growth, Chris embraced less glamorous but necessary jobs – including cleaning outhouses and pre-dawn cleaning of restaurant kitchens – demonstrating a deep commitment to building the business. Having grown up in entrepreneurial households, with his immigrant grandfather’s encouragement to “Be your own boss” deeply resonating, Chris envisioned a company that would offer the freedom to be present in the lives of his children and to leave a lasting legacy.
Continuing the family legacy, Chris and Michelle’s vision of entrepreneurship and service has taken root in their children. Christian, their oldest son, is now a dedicated Shine Franchise Owner. Their other children also have strong entrepreneurial aspirations; one has even launched their own business grounded in the same values of service and care.
Shine was founded on the fundamental principles of supporting others and empowering individuals to become leaders. Zig Ziglar’s insightful quote, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want,” significantly influenced Chris’s vision. Driven by the aspiration to illuminate the service industry, Shine was established on the core belief of creating a brighter world through consistently exceptional experiences. By consistently living out our five values, we empower our team to “let their lights shine” and provide outstanding service that truly makes a difference.

The story of Shine’s commitment to giving back is deeply intertwined with our Founders, Chris and Michelle Fisher, and their connection with Uganda. Their family’s two years of living in Uganda fostered a love and concern for the nation’s orphan and vulnerable children. This personal experience ignited a desire to come alongside these children in a meaningful and sustainable way.
In 2015, Chris and Michelle founded Arrows + Hope, a ministry dedicated to transforming the lives of Uganda’s most vulnerable children. To holistically address the significant challenges faced by these children, Arrows and Hope provides critical educational scholarships, nurturing discipleship, unwavering love, and pathways to sustainable futures through Business Training and Farming God’s Way training.
